A Museum Quality Art Print of the WV Capitol Building showing Architectural Features of West Wing and Dome for sale by Brandywine General Store. The Itailan Renaissance - Colonial Revival styles of architecture are plainly evident in this close up scenic landscape of the famous Charleston WV landmark. This was one of the last great jobs designed by the famous architect, Cass Gilbert. In fact he died just shortly after the building was completed and his son had to do some of the finishing touches after the seat of government was opened in 1932. This giant edifice with the central rotunda and an east and west wing is approximately 530,00 square feet in size and was built at a cost of slightly less than 9.5 million. The plans and permits alone would probably cost that much today. This is considered one of the most beautiful state capitols in the Untied States by many people and institutions.
