Returns Policy

Order from Brandywine General Store with confidence. We stand behind every item we sell and want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase.

  • Standard Return Window: We offer a 7-day return policy on most items. Items must be returned in the same condition as shipped — undamaged and unaltered.
  • Year of Manufacture (YOM) License Plates: We offer an extended 1-month return policy on YOM plates to give you time to contact your state DMV and confirm the plates qualify for YOM registration on your classic vehicle. We strongly recommend verifying eligibility with your DMV before ordering to avoid unnecessary return shipping costs. Most of our YOM plates are individually pictured to help you make that determination.
  • “Various” Listings: Many of our license plates are sold as “various,” meaning you may not receive the exact plate shown in the photo. Listings will always clarify whether you are receiving the exact item pictured or a similar one from available stock — please read all descriptions carefully before purchasing.
  • Return Shipping Costs: If an item is clearly shown and described in the listing and you choose to return it, return shipping costs are the buyer’s responsibility.

Shipping Policy

Domestic Shipping (United States)

We ship via USPS and offer two service levels at checkout — you choose what works best for you.

USPS Ground Advantage

Our most popular option thanks to its lower cost. We purchase our own sturdy, purpose-sized boxes for all Ground Advantage shipments — we never ship anything in envelopes or folders. Every order is packed securely regardless of service level.

  • Estimated Delivery: Typically 2–5 business days (runs 1–3 days longer than Priority Mail)
  • Tracking: Full USPS tracking included on every shipment
  • Insurance: Includes up to $100 of USPS insurance coverage. For higher-value items, we purchase additional insurance at our own expense to make sure your order is fully protected.
  • Cost: The most affordable option — the vast majority of our customers now choose Ground Advantage

USPS Priority Mail

A faster option with the added protection of Priority Mail packaging.

  • Estimated Delivery: 2–3 business days
  • Tracking: Full USPS tracking included
  • Insurance: Includes up to $100 of USPS insurance coverage. Additional insurance is purchased by us on higher-value items.

International Shipping

We are pleased to offer international shipping via FedEx and DHL. International shipping rates are calculated automatically at checkout based on your destination, package weight, and dimensions.

  • Estimated Delivery: 5–14 business days depending on destination country and customs processing times
  • Tracking: Full tracking through delivery is included on all international shipments
  • Customs & Duties: International customers are responsible for all customs fees, import duties, taxes, and brokerage fees assessed by their country. These charges are not included in our shipping rates and are collected by your local customs authority — we are unable to predict or control these fees.
  • Customs Declarations: We are required by law to accurately declare the full value of all shipments. We cannot mark packages as gifts or undervalue items on customs forms.

Handling Time & Dispatch Schedule

We ship 2–3 times per week depending on order volume. We are located in a rural area, which may occasionally add a day or two to delivery times beyond standard estimates. If you need an item by a specific date, please contact us before ordering and we will give you an honest assessment.

Packaging

All orders ship in secure boxes — we never use envelopes or folders. Here is how we handle each item type:

  • Art Prints (small format — 8½″ × 11″ and 9″ × 13″): Shipped flat in rigid boxes to prevent bending or creasing.
  • Art Prints (medium format — up to 24″): Carefully rolled and shipped in sturdy boxes to protect the print during transit.
  • Art Prints (large format — over 24″): Rolled and shipped in heavy-duty rigid shipping tubes for maximum protection.
  • Vintage License Plates: Packed snugly in appropriately sized boxes with cushioning to prevent movement during transit.
  • Coins & Small Collectibles: Secured in protective holders or flips and packed with cushioning material in a sturdy box.

If your item arrives damaged, please photograph both the packaging and the item immediately and contact us within 48 hours of delivery so we can file a claim and make it right.
