A Museum Quality Print of Deep Purple and Red Raspberry Vine Thicket. If you like deep rich purples and reds then this print is for you. A very unusual fall scene as these raspberries are the deepest colored of any that I have ever seen. This scene was shot on top of Smith Mountain in the mountainous western section of Pendleton County West Virginia and was processed to resemble an oil painting. Raspberry vines such as these used to be very common on all the farmsteads throughout West Virginia, the berries were used for everything from jams and jellies to delicious pies and cobblers as well as being eaten right off the vine. When you pick raspberries in thickets like this you had better wear your high top boots, because this is a common place for rattlesnakes to hang out. In recent years the deer herd has worked on a lot of these raspberry thickets so this once common sight of the mountains is now getting to be a rare item.
