$9.99
An archival art print of Portrait of Colonel William F. Cody painted by Rosa Bonheur in 1889. Europeans were completely enamored of William F. “Buffalo Bill” Cody’s Wild West show. When Cody, the performers and Native Americans traveled to Paris in 1889 to put on a show, French painter Rosa Bonheur visited the grounds of the encampment to sketch the exotic American animals and the Indian warriors with their families. Cody, in turn, accepted the invitation of Rosa Bonheur to visit her chateau in Fontainebleau where she painted this portrait. The painting is now housed at the Buffalo Bill historical center in Cody Wyoming.
