Bisschop Abraham - Park Landscape with Guinea Fowl and Chickens
A Museum Quality Print of Park Landscape with Guinea Fowl and Chickens by Abraham Bisschop, oil on canvas painted by the artist in 1723 and measures 70 by 90 centimeters in size. Abraham Bisschop was the youngest son and student of Corneliss Bisschop who was a court painter to the King of Denmark. Abraham was mainly a painter of birds in Italianate landscapes, portraits and he also painted room scenes for the wealthy people with large houses in Holland. Most of his surviving artworks are similar to this one of exotic birds in park like settings. The scene in this painting shows a couple of large guineas with blue and red heads, mixed among them are chickens with some small chicks scratching around for food. They are all by a formal park setting with marble steps and columns.
