Orion Nebula Hubble Space Telescope Art Print
Step into the Orion Nebula through a panoramic image captured by the Hubble Space Telescope. Rolling clouds of dust and gas surround thousands of stars at different stages of formation. Near the bright center, four prominent young stars form the Trapezium, their light and energy helping shape the surrounding nebula.
At upper left, M43 glows around a young star, beside dark pillars of dust and gas pointing toward the Trapezium. Across the right side, arcs and bubbles mark places where stellar winds meet surrounding material. Faint red points near the bottom include brown dwarfs, objects too small to sustain the fusion that powers ordinary stars. Hubble's panorama was assembled from 520 images taken in five colors, revealing intricate structure in one of the best-known star-forming regions of our sky.
