A museum quality print of Studebaker Truck Picking up the Chickens for sale by Brandywine General Store. Our archival artwork shows an antique Studebaker truck parked in front of a chicken house with some fall color in the background. It looks like this truck went to pick up the chickens fifty years ago and just gave up. Back in the middle part of the last century, chickens were raised in small houses such as this one. The truck in the picture would have been similar to the early trucks that would have picked up the chickens for market, the chickens would have been caught and put in coops, then loaded on flat bed trucks. Most of the chicken trucks were bigger than this one, but smaller ones like this were used in places that were hard to get to or small houses that didn't have enough chickens for a load on a bigger truck.
