An Excellent Quality Print of the Sherlock Holmes Theater Poster starring William Gillette as the famous detective for sale by Brandywine General Store. This play is from material written from Conan Doyle's stories, "A Scandal in Bohemia", "The Final Problem" "A Study in Scarlet" as well as new material that was added to make the play. Doyle was credited as a co author, even though Gillette actually wrote the play. This play opened in New York City on November 06, 1899 and ran there for more than 260 performances. After this tour, the play began touring the United States and then moved on to the Lyceum Theater in London, England in September 1901. During the London performances, a thirteen year old boy named Charlie Chaplin, played Billy the page boy. The play closed in London after 200 performances.
