Rembrandt Van Rijn - Anna and the Blind Tobit Fine Art Print
A Museum Quality Print of Anna and the Blind Tobit by Rembrandt. The artist painted this masterpiece around the year 1630. The story of Anna, her husband Tobit and their son, Tobias is told in the apocryphal book of Tobit. God tested them by reducing them to poverty and blinding Tobit. In the 17th century they were considered to be examples of piety in adversity. This painting was thought maybe to be a collaboration between Rembrandt and his Leiden pupil Gerrit Dou, or maybe even painted by Dou without the help of Rembrandt. However, recent comparisons between the works of Rembrandt and Dou have left no doubt that this painting was done by Rembrandt himself.
