A fine art print of Three Small Mouth Bass which are swimming on the bottom of what is probably a lake. Small Mouth bass require cooler waters than their cousins, the large mouth bass, however they can take warmer temperatures than the trout species, living in lakes as well as rivers. Small Mouth are also readily moved and transported, which is why these bass are spread throughout the biggest part of the eastern United States. These are a favorite of fresh water anglers, due to the fact that ounce for ounce, the small mouth bass is one of the toughest fighters in the fresh water fish category, putting up quite a fight when hooked by the fisherman. Some other names for the small mouth bass are bronzeback, brown bass, brownie, smallie, bronze and bareback bass. The female can lay over 20,000 eggs and these are guarded in the nest by the male.
