An archival premium Quality art Print of The Water Carrier painted by Spanish artist, Francisco Goya between 1808 - 1812 for sale by Brandywine General Store. This striking portrait has been revealed now as a protest artwork about the French invasion of it's neighbor Spain during the Napoleonic Wars. La Aguadora or the water carrier was wrongly interpreted as a decorative picture of a woman carrying a jug of water until researchers discovered that she was a folk heroine who helped Spanish troops attempting to repel French forces. She has been identified as María Agustín, who was carrying not water but brandy, which she distributed to Spanish troops to raise morale on the battlefield. Famous Artists print #244
