Courbet, Gustave - The Fishing Boat Fine Art Print
A Museum Quality Print of The Fishing Boat by Gustave Courbet. The artist finished this oil on canvas in the year 1865 wiht the original size being 25 by 32 inches. Courbet painted this work during a productive trip to Trouville which he took with James McNeill Whistler from September to November 1865. He wrote to his father that he had completed 35 paintings during this 3 month period, including this seascape. The fishing boat which is rigged and full of equipment is the focus of the composition rather than a piece of the background, which is more normal.
