A Museum Quality Print of The Bathers by Paul Cezanne. The original size of this oil on canvas is 50 by 77 inches and now located at the National Gallery in London, England. Cezanne made many paintings of bathers as the main subject as it conjured up his idyllic youth spent swimming in the River Arc with his friends. He worked on three canvases of bathers at the same time from around 1894 to 1905 including this one, the other two are now located at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and The Barnes Foundation in Merion Pennsylvania. In these works, Cezanne was reinterpreting a long tradition of painting with nude figures on the landscape by the old masters such as Titian and Poussin. When The Bathers were exhibited in 1907, this painting became an inspiration for the beginning of the Cubist Movement, with Picasso and Matisse taking a strong interest in it.
