Antoinette, Marie Hunting Portrait by Louis Auguste Brun
A Museum Quality Print of Portrait of Marie Antoinette Hunting by Louis Auguste Brun. The artist finished this oil on canvas in the year 1783. Marie Antoinette refused to abide by the traditions of her day, she went on the hunts after stag, boars and foxes with the hunting parties consisting of all men. It is said she even rode with her legs straddling the horse and not both to one side as women were supposed to ride if they even got on a horse. Her husband Louis XVI is in the background. A very colorful painting, but it does show some wear that can't all be removed.
