American Prize Fruit with Basket Fine Art Print
A Museum Quality Print of American Prize Fruit with a Basket. This chromolithograph still life was published in the year 1867 by Thomas Kelly of New York City with the lithographers being G Spohni of Philadelphia Pennsylvania. The picture shows many type of fruits that were grown in the United States with some of the fruits being in a basket and the rest scattered out on the table. Some of the fruits shown are raspberries or some type of a blue berry, a large melon or cantaloupe with a large piece cut out of it and the slice is laying on the table beside the basket, white and purple grapes, peaches, pears, apples, pineapple, plums, cherries and more. Adding to the decoration of this still life was a flowering vine that is snaking throughout the fruits and a large antique blue pitcher is standing in the upper right hand corner. The background is a red wall which adds to the richness of this painting litho.
