The Goldwing is the first Japanese production four stroke motorcycle to be water cooled, it also features a shaft drive and is one of the first production bikes to be fitted with a fuel pump. In 1974 Harley Davidson moves chassis manufacturing and final assembly operations to a plant in York PA, to help meet the growing demand for their Harley motorcycles. Engine and transmission manufacturing remains in Milwaukee, along with corporate headquarters.
