A 1969 Town of Manassas city sticker which is unused. The color is white with black letters, there is a rider on a horse in a circle with the town of Manassas around the horse and rider. In July of 1861 the first major land battle of the Civil War was fought here also known as the 1st Battle of Bull Run. The 2nd Battle of Manassas or Bull Run was also fought here from August 28 to 30, 1862. Despite the Confederate States of America winning both of these battles, the crossroads of Manassas spent the majority of the Civil War in Union hands. After the war this crossroads kept growing and in 1892 the town of Manassas became the county seat of Prince William County. Today the population of the city is around 40,000. The size of this sticker is around 2 1/4 by 4 1/2 inches in size.
