1944 Ohio License Plate
A 1944 Ohio passenger automobile WWII License Plate for sale by Brandywine General Store. The color of this 1944 OH DMV car tag is dark navy blue with white letters. On the bottom, the state name OHIO and the year 1944 are written. The Ohio Department of Motor Vehicles issued single plates for on the back of the state's vehicles. License plates produced in 1944 are scarce as most states did not make metal tags during these years of World War II. With the war still going full blast, metal was a short commodity, so most states only produced windshield stickers, stickers to put on the old plates and some states produced plates out of cardboard, Illinois even used a soybean fiber board and it was rumored that sometimes goats would eat these plates right off the car. At Brandywine General Store we have several of these antique 1944 Passenger Car license plates available for sale including a couple "shortie" tags. We have included pictures of each one to help you decided which to purchase.
