1943 Illinois License Plates
A pair of 1943 WWII Illinois Car license plates, the '43 IL DMV automobile tags were made out of fiberboard because of the metal shortage of World War II. The color of these passenger car tags is green with white letters, Illinois 1943 are both at the top. There were no cars manufactured in 1943 because all of the car companies were manufacturing war material for WWII. These are still great plates for in a collection, not many tags were made out of fiber board in the history of license plate production.
