Boston MA W.S. Marshall obsolete 3 cents scrip 1860s
An obsolete 3 cents W. S. Marshall obsolete store memorandum check from the 1860s for sale by Brandywine General Store. The obsolete currency has the address No. 4 Merchant's Row - Boston and this was a memorandum check for three cents when out of change. This is a small change note measuring only 1 1/2 by 2 1/4. The note is not dated, but must have been in the Civil War era when hard change was scarce and merchants had to resort to these paper change notes. Our estimation of condition to be used as a reference only is uncirculated with a flea bite out of the bottom border and hinge marks on the back and has been punch cancelled.
