1966 Kansas Motorcycle License Plate
An unused new old stock 1966 Kansas Motorcycle License Plate that is black with white letters. The state name and date, Kansas 66, are both located at the top of the plate, at the right written vertically is cycle. Kansas does have a year of manufacture law, you will need to check the Kansas Department of Motor Vehicles laws to see if the YOM laws extend to motorcycles and if this bike tag would qualify for year of manufacture purposes. The DMV number will vary. Motorcycle News from 1966 - Harley Davidson produced 36,310 motorcycles in 1966. Sportster style cylinder heads arrived on the 66 big twins, soon prompting the nickname "shovelheads". Harley had quit making the panheads during the 1965 year. The new heads increased the maximum output to 60 hp at 5400 rpms from the Panheads 55 horsepower.
