Cockle Rose Campion Botanical Art Print

Brandywine General Store

$10.99

Two rich crimson flowers and a pointed unopened bud rise on slender green stems in this antique Rose Cockle illustration. The larger bloom faces outward, revealing fine dark lines radiating across its rounded petals toward a pale center. A smaller flower offers a side view of its ribbed green calyx, while two broad, softly shaded gray-green leaves spread from the branching stem.

Also known as rose campion and historically identified as Agrostemma coronaria, this plant was illustrated as plate 24 in Volume 1 of Curtis’s Botanical Magazine, published in 1787. The airy arrangement and striking contrast between red blossoms and muted foliage bring a quiet elegance to a garden-inspired room. Reproduced in archival quality by Brandywine General Store.
