A Museum Quality Print of the WWII Poster Battle of Midway Turning the Tide in the Pacific from 1944. The Battle of Midway fought in 1942 was of course a great victory for the United States Navy after the Japanese almost destroyed the fleet at Pearl Harbor. Luckily for us, our cryptologists broke the Japanese codes and we knew they were planning a major attack in the Pacific but we didn't know where. Finally another message was coded that gave us the location of Midway so the US Navy was able to move its few remaining ships there and beat the Japanese. This was known as the turning point of the war in the Pacific, until this time our Navy had suffered greatly at the hands of the Japanese.
