WV Capitol Building a Front View Art Print

The graceful WV Capitol sets overlooking the Kanawha River from which the county is also named. This scenic landscape shot shows the building from the road in front and includes the steps, statue of Abraham Lincoln and the trees lining the walkway. This building was built in 3 stages, with the West Wing completed in 1925. the East Wing in 1927 and the rotunda which connects the two wings wasn't completed until 1932. The total cost of the entire project was 9.5 million dollars. The rotunda features a chandelier with a 54 foot long brass and bronze chain, this light weighs two tons and is made of 10,080 pieces of Czechoslovakian crystal and illuminates with 96 light bulbs.
