Ward, James - The Day's Hunt Fine Art Print
A Museum Quality Reproduction Print of The Day's Hunt by English artist James Ward. This painting was completed by Ward in 1826 and now resides at the Yale Center for British Art. The scene shows a group of three hunters with a wide variety of birds that they have killed. In the forefront is a large white goose, which is probably for the Christmas Dinner, as the trees are snow covered, Christmas is probably just around the corner. Beside the goose are pheasants, grouse and other birds. The hunter beside the horse is holding a large hare, while the hunter in the background is holding what looks like a mallard duck. The third hunter is setting down with his rifle and the dogs are looking at him as they are awaiting his next order, meanwhile two small children are behind the rail fence watching all these proceedings.
