Vuillard, Edouard - Woman in Striped Dress Art Print

Fine Art Prints of Distinction

A Museum Quality Art Print of a Woman in Striped Dress by Edouard Vuillard. The artist finished this oil on canvas in 1895 and is now located at the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC by gifting of Mr. Paul Mellon in 1983. This painting along with four others were commissioned by Thadee Natanson in 1895, this set of five works were known as "The Album", these pictures over the years have been separated and dispersed. The first woman is thought to be Mrs. Natanson, the wife of the buyer, who was an accomplished pianist. With a densely decorated interior full of rich burgundy tones, two women are arranging bouquets of chrysanthemums, while a third woman stands behind them, perhaps supervising. Both the English Arts and Crafts and Japonisme are reflected in this painting's style.

At Fine Art Prints of Distinction we painstakingly repair the original files of these old paintings and print them using premium quality inks and paper.
