This was a sight that was common throughout the country in all the rural areas as late as 50 years ago. Most all small farms had a flock of chickens and some had turkeys also. These fowl not only provide eggs but also meat for the Sunday dinner table as well. This composition shows a colorful group of chickens and turkeys all with bright red combs, along with some young chickens. The turkey gobbler seems to be strutting to show off for his hen, but she seems more interested in getting a drink of water than watching him strut. Country Decor art print #194
