The picture shows a bright orange poppy blossom on a short stem with two leaves. This poppy was described thus Most plants of this tribe are distinguished by their brilliant colors and most are annuals, but has a creeping perennial root which is easily propagated. Though a native of the East, the poppy suffers the climate of Europe without injury, flowering in May and prefers a dry soil.
