An archival premium Quality Art Print of The Emblems of the Civil War painted by Alexander Pope in 1888 for sale by Brandywine General Store. The size of the original of this oil on canvas is 54 by 51 inches in size and now resides at the Brooklyn Museum. The artist signed this in the lower right corner Alex Pope 88 Boston, while there is also a calling card in the lower left hand corner which has the artist's full name. The painting depicts a soldier's belongings hanging on the wall as if ready to be worn again at any time. Some of the items in this collection are a pair of pistols, one an antique flintlock type while the other one would have been a more modern type used in the Civil War era. Also the soldier's musket rifle, a skeleton key which was probably to his footlocker or trunk in which he would have kept these items while fighting the Confederate Soldiers, a saddle bag, large flag, a crossed pair of swords, cap, canteen, knife and a leather wallet. This was quite an impressive collection of fighting items for a Civil War soldier. Today these items would be worth quite a lot of money. Civil War art print #27
