A Museum Quality Print of Landscape with Farms and Livestock by Wijnand Nuijen. This watercolor on paper was painted by the artist around 1830, give or take a few years. The size of the original art is 13 by 18 inches and is now at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. This Dutch painter died early in life living only from 1813 until his untimely death in 1839. He specialized in landscapes and was greatly influenced by the French Romantic artists. King William II greatly admired his works, when the King bought another of Nuijen's paintings called Shipwreck, he already had 5 other works in his royal collection by this artist. This scenic landscape shows a farm scene with a large barn on the left, either this is a fancy barn with heat or the barn is attached to the house, because there is a flue on the end for a stove to be hooked into for heat. A couple of herders on foot, one on horse and the dogs are herding the cattle and sheep up the road to another field. This is a small village as you can see several more homes and in the distance you can see a couple bigger buildings
