An archival premium Quality Art Print of A Dragon-Fly, Two Moths, A Spider, some Beetles with Wild Strawberries by Jan Van Kessel the Elder for sale by Brandywine General Store. This oil on copper is now in the Ashmolean Museum at Oxford University or also known as the Museum of Art and Archaeology being donated to said University by Daisy Linda Ward in 1939. Kessel was a versatile painter of still life's from Antwerp, best known for his small paintings on copper upon which he would paint various insects, shells and flowers similar to this work. This small masterpiece dates from the period around 1650 - 1654, it is believed that these small works of art on copper plate were actually painted fronts for small drawers in a cabinet. We have added an antique black border around this print, we think making it look better and also more how it would have looked with the framing of a cabinet door around it, as originally intended. Old Master art print #41
