An original premium quality art print of John Brown's Fort in Harpers Ferry Historical National Park for sale by Brandywine General Store. Our archival printed landscape shows the front of this historical building that has a lot of pre Civil War connection. In 1859 John Brown planned on taking over the Armory and arming his followers for a slave uprising. President Johnson sent Robert E. Lee and JEB Stuart to put down this insurrection, Brown and some of his followers barricaded themselves in this building which was the Armory's fire engine and guard house. This was the only building of the Harpers Ferry Armory to survive the Civil War. Picture #1403 an original Harpers Ferry Historical National Park art print made from a photograph in the Brandywine collection.
