This pictures shows three different examples of the Iris Flower in different shades of purples and blues, along with the green stalks and bulbs of each one. A more common name of this flower is the English Iris. They are a bulbous Iris that is native to the Pyrenee Mountains which are widely grown for their large delicate flowers in most colors except yellow. They usually bloom in June and are hardy plants of easy culture. The name English Iris derives from the plant being acquired by the low countries from England many years ago, so this was thought to be the place of origination since the flower had been in England for so many years.
