Hellebore, Black or Christmas Rose Botanical Art Print
An archival premium Quality Botanical Art Print of the Black Hellebore or more commonly known as the Christmas Rose for sale by Brandywine General Store. This artwork is as drawn by Curtis for his popular Botanical Magazine in 1786. He described this plant thus "This plant derives its first name from the black color of its roots, the 2nd from its early flowering and the color of its petals, which are milky white, but have a tint of red in them. Black Hellebore grows wild on the Appenine and other rocky mountains. Like many other Alpine plants, it loves a pure air, a situation moderately moist and a soil which is unmanured. It is propagated by parting its roots in the autumn." Helleborus Niger. Botanical art print #54
