Fennel Flower, Garden or Love in a Mist Botanical Art Print

Fine Art Prints of Distinction

A Museum Quality Botanical Art Print of the Garden Fennel Flower or Love in a Mist Flower. Curtis illustrated this flower in volume 01 of his The Botanical Magazine being plate or picture number 22 from 1787. He describes it as follows "Also known as Love in a Mist or Devil in a Bush, this flower is an annual and grows wild among the corn in the southern parts of Europe. It will vary between blue and white flowers, either single or double blossoms. It may be propagated by sowing seeds upon a bed of light Earth where they are to remain, this plant seldom succeeds if it is transplanted. When the plants come up you need to thin where they are to close together, then keep clear of weeds. This is all the culture they require. In July they will produce their flowers and the seeds will ripen in August.

Nigella Damascena.
