CR #15 Missouri Defence Bond Obsolete $4.50 Civil War Currency
Obsolete four dollars and fifty cents Missouri Defence Bond printed during the Civil War by the Southern MO government while in exile for sale by Brandywine General Store. The obsolete currency has Commerce, Prosperity and Navigation on the left end and a red overprint with 4 1/2 in the center. It is not clear if any of this second series of defence bonds were ever actually issued, it also is still a mystery why the odd denomination of $4.50 was used instead of five, the southern govt had also issued a four dollar note, but no five. The four dollar and fifty cent note is rated on the rarity scale as R-7 meaning it is estimated between 101 to 400 still exist. We have more than one Missouri 4.50 defence bonds available for sale but we have included pictures of the front and back of each note currently in our inventory. We also include our estimation of grade for each bill, but you can check the pictures and let that help you decide on the condition as well.
