A five dollar obsolete treasury note from the commonwealth of Virginia issued October 15, 1862 from the second issue of Bills issued by VA during the Civil War for sale by Brandywine General Store. The center vignette is a portrait of Johnathon Bennett who was the public account auditor for the state, on the right is the VA state seal. The serial number is 38439. There is a green border and two 5 protectors in round green medallions. Our estimate of grade to be used as reference only is choice crisp extra fine, with only a couple small light corner folds holding it back from a higher grade.
