The artist painted this flower for his famous Botanical Magazine in the year 1787. This picture features a twig of the bush with full blooming yellow blossoms and the green leaves. Curtis describes the day-smelling coronilla thus - "This charming shrub which is almost perpetually in bloom is a native of the South of France and a constant ornament in our greenhouses. The flowers, which in the day are remarkably fragrant, in the night are almost without any scent.
