A Museum Quality Print of Magnolia and Blue Grosbeak by Mark Catesby for sale by Brandywine General Store. This ornithology print was plate 39 in Catesby's Natural History of Carolina which was produced in 1731. This painting shows a blue grosbeak setting in a magnolia branch getting ready to eat one of the red seeds from the spent magnolia bloom. This was one of the very many bird illustrations that were drawn by Catesby for inclusion in various ornithological journals during the 18th century before we were yet a country independent of England.
