Adams John 1793 Portrait by John Trumbull
A Museum Quality Print of the 1793 Portrait of John Adams by John Trumbull. This painting of the second president was completed by John Trumbull in 1793 while John Adams was still serving as the Nation's first Vice President under President George Washington. Adams was the first man to find out how thankless and insignificant the job of Vice President could be, it did however have one perk for Mr. Adams, it allowed him to run for President in 1797 and win the office to become the Nation's second Commander in Chief. He only served one term and wasn't a very popular president, he was succeeded by Thomas Jefferson in 1801. This oil on canvas measures 25 by 21 inches in size and now belongs int he National Portrait Gallery of the Smithsonian Institute in Washington DC.
