United States Mint
$39.99
A 2008-S New Mexico Silver Statehood Quarter which was graded perfect by PCGS at Proof 70 Deep Cameo. As of this listing only 607 of these silver state quarters have been good enough to earn the distinction of a perfect 70 grade. This is the best grade of New Mexico quarter available so it will make an excellent addition for any collection, you will not find one that is any better. New Mexico was admitted to the Union in 1912 becoming the 47th state. The design on the quarter from the Land of Enchantment features an outline of the state with the zia sun symbol included inside the state outline. The Zia Pueblo believed the zia sun symbol represented the giver of all good, who did so in groupings of four. This symbol is testament to the rich Native American cultures that were found within the state. Any scratches of blemishes you see are on the slab itself and not the coin, please keep in mind that our images are magnified about 10 times which makes any blemish look much worse than it actually is. The coin is also of course, silver in color, but modern proofs with their shiny, glossy surfaces reflect all the lighting making them appear black. Brandywine General Store has more than one of these 2008S CA Silver Statehood Quarters graded a perfect 70 by PCGS so you might receive a different PCGS serial number.
