2005 Birth Year Coin Set
A 2005 Birth Year coin set which includes the Kennedy Half Dollar, Washington Quarter, Roosevelt Dime, Jefferson Nickel and Lincoln Cent for sale by Brandywine General Store. These sets will be in uncirculated condition. This was the 2nd and last year for the Westward Journey nickel program by the United States Mint. A new obverse with a different portrait of President Jefferson was used this year based on a bust from 1789, the inscription Liberty is based on Jefferson's own handwriting. The first of the two reverses was the American Bison which was very important to the various Native American tribes the Expedition encountered on their journeys. The 2nd design was the Ocean in view which was based on a November 07, 1805 entry in Clark's journal which was "Ocean in View, O! The Joy!"This 2005 US coin set makes an excellent gift for birthdays or any other occasion.
