A 1961 West Virginia Passenger Automobile Aluminum License Plate, the color of this '61 WV DMV car tag is maroon and white, the DMV only issued single tags for the state's motorists to use on their vehicles during the model year of 1961. For some reason the Mountain State Department of Motor Vehicles made several different varieties of license plates during 61. Some were made out of aluminum such as these, some were steel. Some of the tags were embossed, some debossed, some had a reflective coating and some did not.
