Maytag Washing Machine in Rock Cellar Foundation Art Print

$9.99

A Museum Quality Art Print of Antique Maytag Washing Machine in Rock Cellar Foundation for sale by Brandywine General Store. This West Virginia scene is on now on Government property in Pendleton county. At one time this was the cellar smokehouse of an old homestead. In later years when washing machines starting becoming popular, they were sometimes put in the smoke house which was always located over the cellars. No one at that time thought that a washing machine belonged in the home. This machine might even predate the wringer types, might have just been a tub with an agitator, but most likely was still a Maytag. In later years, the floor could have rotted out of the upstairs and let the washing machine fall down into the cellar, or it could have been dumped into the basement hole. A lot of the rock foundation is still visible with brambles and briars growing all over the rocks and the washing machine itself. Picture #104 an original country photographic print by Brandywine General Store.
