Our archival printed artwork features a close view of the worn headstone for William Ripley of Virginia with the cemetery fence behind and a rail fence barely visible across the road. Printed on the headstone is William Goodwyn Ripley Co. G, 6th VA Regiment, Southampton County. Killed August 20, 1862, 2nd Manassas. Aged 20 years. This is one of only two fallen Southern soldiers out of 500 in the cemetery that was able to be identified.
