A Museum Quality Print of Summer Delight by Anders Zorn for sale by Brandywine General Store. The artist finished this watercolor painting in the year 1886. This art was recently sold by the Stockholm Auctions, the Worlds oldest Auction House being founded in 1674, bringing a price of 3.68 Million US Dollars. This is the highest price ever paid for an artwork by a Swedish artist. The buyer was anonymous but the auction house said this treasure would remain in Sweden, probably meaning that a private collector from the country was the purchaser. Summer Delight was painted one year after his marriage to Emma Lamm, who is the woman dressed in all white standing on the dock waiting to get in the boat. The Zorns had just returned from their honeymoon when this completed. The scene is set in Dalaro, their summer home and scene of many of the artist's best creations. It is cleverly painted, he really excels here with his watercolor techniques with the movement of the waters, the lighting and very beautiful atmosphere. It clearly shows he is in love with the woman he is painting.
