A Museum Quality Print of the 1939 movie The Wizard of Oz with Judy Garland as Dorothy released by MGM and lost the academy award for best picture to Gone With the Wind. Probably two of the biggest movies in cinema history were released during 1939. The story line to the Wizard of Oz is as follows: When a tornado rips through Kansas, Dorothy (Judy Garland) and her dog, Toto, are whisked away in their house to the magical land of Oz. They follow the Yellow Brick Road toward the Emerald City to meet the Wizard, and en route they meet a Scarecrow (Ray Bolger) that needs a brain, a Tin Man (Jack Haley) missing a heart, and a Cowardly Lion (Bert Lahr) who wants courage. The wizard asks the group to bring him the broom of the Wicked Witch of the West (Margaret Hamilton) to earn his help. MGM budgeted 2.8 million for the production of The Wizard of Oz, the first release earned 3 million, but the film has made countless millions in the ensuing years. A great print for any child's room.
