Virginia Obsolete Currency Stewart and Kasey Quarter Change Note
SKU: Stewart and Kasey 25 cents 665
A rare piece of Virginia Civil War scrip being a twenty five cent fractional note issued by Stewart and Kasey at the beginning period of the Civil War on February 15, 1862 from Stewartsville VA. On this note the town name is spelled incorrectly. This Virginia confederate money will grade fine, however it does have a edge split at the top that is about 1/2 inch long and an edge nick also at the top, but overall still has a nice appearance for a rare piece of Civil War scrip. It is estimated that only between 10 to 24 of these obsolete civil war notes still exist. The vignette is a large train going up a mountain side. The picture shows the actual Virginia Stewart and Kasey civil war scrip that is for sale at Brandywine General Store.
