Virginia Seventy Five Cents Obsolete Currency from Scott County Issued during the Civil War on August 15, 1862 from Estillville Virginia. Estillville is now known as Gate City. The city and Scott County is located in the southwest tip of Virginia and was renamed because the city was the gateway to the western coal fields. These are plain typeset examples of VA Confederate money, this Confederate Virginia note has a small vignette of a tree at the left. The condition is extra fine.
