Civil War era obsolete fractional note from Lynchburg, Virginia dated May 1, 1862. This bill has been professionally graded Fine 15 by PCGS. This Confederate Change note states that "The City of Lynchburg will pay to Bearer, in Current Funds, Seventy-Five Cents, When demanded in sums of one or more dollars. This note also has a vignette in the upper center of a watchdog guarding a locked safe, a popular motif of southern currencies during the Civil War.
